Mid-20th Century French Tortoiseshell and Bronze Boulle Mantel Clock on Base

About the Item

This important, vintage Boulle mantel clock was created in France, circa 1950. Standing on the original base, the clock has bronze scrolled feet and decorative mounts; it features an arched pediment surmounted with a gilt bronze cherub playing the trumpet. The red tortoiseshell and brass inlaid case is outlined with brass; the center clock face is further embellished with blue enamel and brass Roman dial. The tall clock is in excellent working order; pendulum, winding key and door key included. This elegant clock with opulent ormolu decor is in excellent condition and would make a Classic addition to a formal living room or study. Measure: 16.25" W x 7.5" D x 31.5" H.
