Early 20th century, great condition Art Deco mantel / table / desk clock. A few years ago we sold an Amsterdam School wall clock that was undoubtedly by the same maker as this wonderful design Art Deco table clock. To have found this stunning rectangular mantel clock in the same style was a treat, but to find it in this amazing condition really made our day. For it to run and strike perfectly was another major plus and it all means that it has always been well loved and perfectly looked after. This very stylish antique also comes with the original, curved glass panel in the door in front of the dial face. So if you are looking for a rare, beautiful and great condition mantel clock in perfect working order then this antique Art Deco specimen could be perfect for you. A key to wind both the eight-day mechanism and the gong striking mechanism is also included. Speaking of the gong, this clock has a unique place (in the bottom of the clock case) where the gong spirals are kept strongly in place by a cast iron base. This also makes this fine clock more sturdy and stabile. You can hear the calm and warm gong sound once on the half hours and on the whole hours it will strike 1 to 12 times depending on the time.
