Stunning Viennese enamel vintage table clock - made of: -- silver -- nacre -- enamel (excellently chiselled) -- onyx -- semiprecious stones Attention: The table clock is partially gilt ! Manufactured circa 1870 Table clock based on rectangular platter which is attached to four feet shaped as scrolls of acanthus leaves / the clockface is edged by round frame which has fixed position between a pair of columns. - Please note the finest ornaments consisting of various decorative carved scrollworks ! Vienna became a focal point / regional hub of production of finest enameled items made of silver and copper in beginning of the so-said 'Ringstrassen' - period (as from 1850) when Vienna's grand boulevard / avenue - the 'Ringstrasse' - was planned and built instead of ancient town wall having once been erected in the Middle Ages. - The range of production of enamel items was great - it included centrepieces and goblets, table & mantel (fireplace) clocks, folding screens with enameled decorations en miniature, snuffboxes and many other luxury articles - very often decorated with silver frames, crystal elements and gemstones. Size: Height 23.5 cm / 9.25 inches Size of base (feet included) 15.5 x 10.5 cm / 6.10 x 4.13 inches Depth 10.5 cm / 4.13 inches Very good condition / there aren't any damages existing. The clockwork is in operable condition.

Made in France in the late nineteenth century it is formed of green onyx, porcelain (the vase on top), cloisonné enamel and ormolu. The dials are set upon three columns of ormolu, mounted on green onyx, and framed with enamel in red, white, and blue, floral motifs. The dials are adorned with lettering in both French and Spanish, and measure time, temperature, and pressure.
