Viennese Silver Historicism Splendour Clock With Musical Movement, Around 1880

About the Item

Artfully decorated silver gilded table clock by a Viennese master: Flat, rectangular corpus containing the musical mechanism, standing on four elaborately decorated volute feet attached to the corners, rectangular elevation in the middle at the top, covered with three oval, framed malachite plates, flanked by two columns that support the clock case. The entire surface is covered with chased and plastically formed volutes, richly mounted enamel decoration and numerous mounted cut gemstones, as well as river pearls set in a flower-shaped setting. Underside wooden panel with mechanism winder and on/off switch. Movement with gold-plated dial and dark green enamel behind gold Arabic numerals, movement checked by a master clockmaker, completely cleaned and fully functional.
