19th Century Louis XVI Style Spelter Wall Cartel Clock

About the Item

A Louis XVI style cartel wall clock, made in France circa 1880-1890. The case is made of casted spelter (metal alloy) and fitted with four beveled mirror glass. The dial is covered with an enameled finish. Above the clockwork a birdsnest. Richly embellished with Louis XVI style neoclassical ornaments such as ribbons and vases. The clockwork have an 8-days movement, the clock runs and strikes every half hour. Complete with pendulum and key. The clockwork has been fully checked by a clockmaker and runs well.
