Antique Pair of English Bookends in the Shape of a Camel

About the Item

Antique pair of English bookends in the shape of a camel. Beautifully cast in bronze, each camel is fully dressed with saddle harnesses and are shown sitting. Under each camel is the ancient Egyptian symbol of the winged Sun. The camel are attached to brass rods and the gap between the camels can be adjusted from 13 inches up to a gap of 22 inches as the rods fit inside each other and can telescope in or out. There is a serial number 9830 on the reverse of each camel. English circa 1890. 5.5 inches high by 7.25 inches deep by 13 inches min gap to 22 inch maximum.
