ABOUT
A refurbished Art Deco Remington Model 5 typewriter with black, crinkle finish and original case. The keys are nickle with black and white letters. This typewriter is very clean and works very well. It has smooth typing and the carriage advances and functions properly. The ribbon is good. Serial #B30066.

DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1938.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Steel, Metal, Leather.
CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear on the body. Case has wear throughout. One lock is bent and doesn't close.

HISTORY
E. Remington and Sons (1816–1896) was a manufacturer of firearms and typewriters. Founded in 1816 but on March 1, 1873, it became known for manufacturing the first commercial typewriter.
