About

Contemporary New York artist Bebiano Davíd's hand-made sculpture consists of bronze and copper mounted on a marble base. He uses an old-world approach to sculpture consisting solely of oxyacetylene torch welding and hand hammering, wherein each individual sculpture is shaped and formed using traditional methods. The sculpture is signed on the base under the mount.

Born in 1973 in San Francisco, Bebiano Davíd is a fine art sculptor working in cast bronze and direct metal sculpture. He studied under Ellen Lowenstein and established a strong, distinctly personal style.

Much of his influence came from the likes of Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti, Seymour Lipton, Ibram Lassaw, Alicia Penalba and Barbara Hepworth. In an incredibly short amount of time, his surprisingly immense and diverse sculptures combine Eastern and Western philosophy, architecture and modernism.
