About the Item
Decorative Murano ice glass sculpture, attributed to Tagliapietra, 1980s, Italy.
This is an outstanding Italian artwork, attributed to the famous Venetian maestro Tagliapietra, and was entirely handcrafted in the island of Murano.
The many ice-resembling wrinkles on the surface generate the peculiar effect called ice glass.
As the glass sinuously stretches upwards, the surface becomes smooth, it takes the shape of a trunk and the color gradually becomes violet.
This artwork is in perfect original condition, as documented in the attached photos.
