About the Item

Looking for Equilibrium Sculpture by MCB Ceramics Unique piece. Dimensions: D 20 x H 125 cm. Materials: Ceramic. Numerated and signed by the artist. All measures are indicative as all pieces are unique, hand made. "MCB Ceramics is a handmade ceramics brand located in Madrid. Behind MCB Ceramics is me, Mónica, passionate about ceramics, decoration and simple things. I make all the pieces by hand, one by one, following a slow and delicate process. Kneading, shaping, decorating, glazing...Each step takes time and dedication to obtain a unique, handmade piece, perfect in its imperfection. At MCB Ceramics we make decorative pieces: vases, lamps, sculptures, wall lights,… Neutral colors and organic shapes are the main hallmarks of my pieces, looking for spaces that transmit peace and balance and that help us improve our emotional well-being. But also, in my pieces you can see the influence of Rio de Janeiro, the country where I lived and where I began to study ceramics. Organic pieces that are reminiscent of the tall Rio Morros, black and white that are reminiscent of the Orla de Copacabana or Ipanema. I hope you like it, Monica Carro"

XIX Century Newfoundland Labrador Sculpture (Devezas Ceramics)
Located in Lisboa, PT
The Newfoundland Labrador dog, commonly referred to as the Newfoundland or Newfie, is a large and strong breed known for its gentle and sweet nature. It originated from the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, where it was originally bred as a working dog for tasks such as hauling fishing nets, pulling carts, and rescuing people from water. Key characteristics of the Newfoundland breed include its massive size, with males typically weighing between 130-150 pounds (59-68 kg) and females between 100-120 pounds (45-54 kg). They have a thick double coat that is water-resistant, which helps them excel in water activities and also provides protection in cold climates. The coat can come in various colors, including black, brown, gray, and Landseer (white with black markings). Newfoundlands are known for their gentle and calm demeanor, making them excellent family pets and great with children. They are often described as "gentle giants" due to their patient and affectionate nature. Despite their size, they are generally good-natured and friendly with strangers and other animals. These dogs require regular grooming due to their thick coats, and they also need moderate exercise to stay healthy and happy. They enjoy activities like swimming, hiking, and participating in water sports. Additionally, early socialization and training are important to ensure they grow up to be well-behaved companions. Overall, the Newfoundland Labrador dog is a beloved breed known for its loyalty, gentle nature, and versatility in various roles, from family pet to working dog. The Fábrica de Cerâmica das Devesas (Devesas Ceramic Factory) was established in Vila Nova de Gaia in 1865 and was, at the time, one of the largest and best equipped producers of ceramics.[1] Founded by António Almeida e Costa...
