About the Item
Op Art acrylic cube sculpture by Vasa Mihich, circa 1986. The optical look is changed by rotating the piece and letting the light refract at different angles; there are literally hundreds of different looks that can be created. The Minimalist piece is signed, dated and marked E/125; colors are a very unique black and clear. The cube is in very good vintage condition with rounded corners and sides and measures 3.25" x 3.25" x 3.25". Wonderful early piece. #2081
Vasa Velizar Mihich was born in Yugoslavia in 1933 and is an American artist based in Los Angeles, California.
Vasa is an academically trained painter and was a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Design and Media Arts. He taught theories of color to understand interdependence and interaction of color and form, color and quantity, color and placement, and after-image.

Vasa Velizar Mihich
Academically trained as a painter, Vasa Mihich originally taught theories of color as a senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles. The octogenarian artist has been creating his striking transparent acrylic forms since the late 1960’s in his Los Angeles studio and continues to this day to be a forward-thinking innovator.
