About the Item

Handsome vintage Marwal Industries style large scale molded resin boxer dog statue or sculpture. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. circa, 1970s. NOTE: Cute black and white dog depicted in some of the photos is for your viewing pleasure only and not included in the sale!! lol Well, it’s happened… We’ve finally Gone to the DOGS!! Well, actually one has come to us! And what a handsome pooch he is!! We would love to keep him but between our Mini, Pip, Zara, (and not to mention the other “animals” in this shop! LOL!!!!! Just kidding guys!) we feel he will get more attention in a new home! This is a great vintage Marwal Industries style large scale molded resin boxer statue or sculpture. He is marvelously sculpted with a muscular build sitting in an upright attentive position with intricate realistic details from the tip of his perky, pointed ears down to his wonderful wrinkles, flared nostrils, droopy eyebrows, and trimmed toenails. His body is light brown with an off-white or cream colored chest, and a dark chocolate brown face. He doesn’t shed, he doesn’t bark, and He. Is. GORGEOUS!!! It is modern in style and the EPITOME of 1970s design, but it will blend beautifully with almost ANY décor. It would be wonderful in a maximalist setting, “standing watch” while displayed in an entry way, soaking up the warmth beside the fireplace in the study, or in the family room “guarding” the game cabinet. This guy is so “dog-gone” handsome; he’s going to be “ruff” to let go of. Don’t miss out on your chance to re-home this well-behaved, (and obviously potty trained! HaHa!) fabulous replica of man’s best Boxer friend or you’ll definitely be “in the doghouse!” … Just make him YOURS!!! Modern Cast Metal Stylized Rearing Horse Sculpture Marble Base Attri Curtis Jere
By Curtis Jeré
Located in Topeka, KS
Marvelous modern cast metal bronze tone stylized rearing horse sculpture with a black marble base attributed to Curtis Jere. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970-1980’s. Shipping is possible via parcel which may reduce shipping costs, please contact Seller for a quote. There he is… out in the distance standing on the cliffs edge, rearing with a colossal power that only a wild stallion exudes… Thrusting his hooves at the setting sun as if to say, “this is MY mountain, MY meadows, and MY heard.” He commands attention, he is dignified, and he is EXQUISITE. We have a marvelous cast metal bronze tone stylized rearing horse standing on a beautiful black marble base to offer to you. Attributed to C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere which is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. And this abstract rearing horse is a perfect example of their remarkable pieces!! Unlike other rearing horse sculptures, this one has a single back and front leg… it appears to have been cast this way and we think he is extraordinary. This sculpture will look fabulous on your desk, coffee table, or on a shelf in any room of your home. And though it’s modern, it will be beautiful anywhere you want to add a little abstract flair. This is just the sculpture you’ve been looking for! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in Mid Century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...
