Aldo Londi for Bitossi Rimini Blu Large Ceramic Horse

About the Item

Tall Italian handmade ceramic horse sculpture in the vibrant signature blue of Aldo Londi's iconic art pottery collection Rimini Blu, originally designed in 1959 for Bitossi Ceramiche and imported by Raymor in the 1960s. The deep blue glaze varies in turquoise and aqua green shades and undertones and has a beautiful sheen. The hand carved patterns of lines, dots and Xs on each figurine produce a Brutalist mid-century modern aesthetic. The whole is finished in a gorgeous high quality glaze. Bitossi (or Manifattura Cavaliere Bitossi e Figlia) was founded by Guido Bitossi in Florence, Italy in 1921. The Bitossi Foundation released the biography of the master Aldo Londi and presented a show dedicated to him, titled “Aldo Londi, a 20th Century Ceramist.”

Isaac Cordal Resin Sculpture, Viva La Muerte, Urban Inertia

Located in Miami, FL
A resin zombie skeleton figure sculpture by Isaac Cordal, a contemporary Brussels-based Spanish sculptor, from the Urban Inertia exhibition, titled Viva la Muerte. The bust appears to protrude from whatever surface it is placed on, much like a zombie or undead emerging from the ground. The artist's miniature sculptures, which began with his Cement Eclipses street art series, take the form of sad tiny little people sculpted from concrete or resin. Cordal manages to capture a lot of emotion in his small...
