Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown black and white spotted Italian art glass dove bird figurine sculpture. Documented to designer Archimede Seguso, from the "Bianco Nero" series. The figurine still retains an intact original "Archimede Seguso - Murano - Made In Italy" label underneath. Nicely detailed piece, giving it great character. It has a little tail as well. Would make a great desk companion, or display it on a side table or curio cabinet. Midcentury era. Collectors item. Measures: 4 3/4" long x 2 3/8" wide x 3 1/8" tall.

Gambone's unique style is a combination of ancestral ceramic techniques and Etruscan or abstract decorations composed of primary and secondary colors. At the age of 11, Seguso started training and working as a glassmaker at his father's glass company. Later on, circa in 1930, he took over the family business, named Seguso Vetri d'Arte. During this time he studied the 16th century styles, such as filigrana glass, colorless blown glass, genetic manipulation of glass canes to give the form of linear patterns and plume glass, delicate, fine feather-plume glass shapes. in 1946, he founded his own glass manufacturer company in Murano, Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso. Seguso was one of the 20th centurys master Venetian glassmakers.
