Small Antique Swedish Red-painted Horse in Wood, 1900th

About the Item

A peasant sculpture in the form of a small working, red-painted horse with a bushy mane and tail on a painted pedestal, beautifully carved and painted wood. On the underside, a text in pencil: Memory of Harald (probably the horse's name) Svabensverk, an industrial town in a small industrial town in southwestern Hälsingland. A county in Sweden known for its farms, with preserved cultural heritage values, listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List since 2012 (Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland). The horse is a typical example of folk art from the region. The small sculpture is full of charm and patina.
