We are delighted to this stunning and really quite rare marble statue on Alabaster plinth on a kneeling praying child after the original by the great Luigi Pampaloni (1791-1847) named Samuel An absolutely stunning piece, the look on the face of young Samuel (As he is named) is so serene, you can just feel his love and admiration for god. From every angle this piece is expertly sculpted, the craftsman was a pure master without doubt The last one of these statues sold at Christies on the 4th December 2018 for £18,000 including fees, that one was slightly larger at 48 cm tall The base is signed with a monogram letter, its either an ornate F or an amalgamation of the letters T & F There are small signs of ware here and there in the form of the odd chip Pillar dimensions: Height 95 cm (total height 128 cm) Width 19.5 cm Depth 19.5 cm Statue dimensions: Height 33 cm Width 20.5 cm Depth 16.5 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.
