A stunning French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu bust, signed H. DUMAICE. The bust is raised by a square patinated bronze base with the inscription ROSE de MAI with a mottled ormolu socle pedestal. The richly chased bust above depicts the lovely Rose draped in a fine flowing garment with ormolu accents. Her hair is tied with a decorative ormolu headband and charming flowers.
