Signed Felix Ogbe Ozo Carved Wooden Bust of a Nigerian Man

About the Item

This beautifully carved bust by Felix Ogbe Ozo is of a Nigerian man wearing a textured sleeveless top with a horn-shaped flask around his neck. His hair is dressed with a large ornament in the traditional suku style of the Yoruba Peoples. The wood is dark brown with honey coloured whirls showing the mottled grain of the wood. The contrast of colour and finish gives this sculpture a striking appearance. Details are realistically rendered, and the smooth and facetted textures make this piece a delight to handle. The wood has a fine texture, is very dense and is heavy for it's size (4.5" x 12" x 21"), weighing ~21 pounds. This incredible vintage sculptural art would make a stunning addition to any decor.
