Two 1950s Neoclassical Plaster Italian Scultures of Apollo and Venere dei Medici

About the Item

Two plaster bust of Apollo and Venere dei Medici from a Gipsoteca in a sicilian academy of fine arts. They used to patinate the plasters in different ways, this one has been made with black and gray for this amazing result also given of the time, probably they used them for theater sets or other scenography. Plaster was a common material for sculptures known for its versatility and ability to capture fine details, the use of patina involves applying a thin layer of color finish onto the surface of the sculpture. This technique adds a luxurious and classical aesthetic to the piece.
