Unique & Handcrafted Enormous Bronze Bust Sculpture of Dutch Painter Rembrandt

About the Item

Rare, very large and stunning bronze bust of Holland's most famous painter. When we first saw this truly large, great looking and very well made bronze sculpture of Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669) we immediately knew we had to have it. Also, because bronze sculptures of Rembrandt really are a rare find. We have searched the worldwide web and we learned that there is not another one of this size to be found anywhere in the world and smaller sculptures of Rembrandt are hard to find as well. Judging from the material, the patina and the way it was hand-crafted we date this work of art to 1960-1980 and this bust must have been made for either a private collector, an art institution/museum or perhaps for the owner of a gallery. Anyone who understands what it takes to create a bronze sculpture of this size and quality knows that this Rembrandt bust would have been very expensive to make. This enormous and heavy sculpture is signed on the base and it reads A. Boucher. However, the only A. Boucher we found did not live in the era when this sculpture was handcrafted. That is why we believe that this remarkable sculpture was made by a not so well known, other A. Boucher (which is a relatively common French name). If you are a fan of the work of our worldfamous painter Rembrandt or if you own a gallery and you can already see this rare bronze on a large (stone) pedestal gracing your inner sanctum then maybe you should be its next custodian.
