Sculpture of a pagoda guardian carved from sandstone, Originating from a Buddhist pagoda or temple in Burma, dating back to the 15th-16th century. This piece was unearthed following an earthquake in Arakan in the 1700s. The sculpture features a beautiful, naturally aged patina, highlighting its historic character, and is mounted on a light sandstone base. A highly decorative piece, it exudes unique character and presence. Provenance: from a private Danish collection.
