Doulton Lambeth Dutch Woman Figure by Leslie Harradine

About the Item

A scarce large Doulton Lambeth early Art Deco figure of a Dutch Woman designed by renowned designer and modeler Leslie A Harradine and dating from around 1914. The figure modeled in white stoneware wears a long dress with apron and carries a large basket on one arm. Her dress is hand colored with a blue checkered pattern with a natural salt glazed finish. She wears a traditional Dutch bonnet on her head. The figure stands on a flat base with feint impressed and artist marks. The figure is well modeled with excellent detail and is a larger and more unusual variant carrying a basket. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good condition.
