Antique tile tableau, Baptism of Jesus in the river Jordan, Dutch ca. 1800
Located in Gorssel, GE
Tableau consisting of twelf Dutch tiles depicting the Baptism of Jezus by Saint John in the river Jordan, a castle behind. The twelf tiles are carefully painted in a manganese color wich was very much 'en vogue' around 1800.
Judging by the spiral shaped side decorations the tableau was executed around 1800. Condition: Overall in good condition, some small damage in the tiles above the head of Jesus.
Typical antique Dutch tile...
