Midcentury Swedish Fireplace Screen by Olle Hermansson for Husqvarna

About the Item

Midcentury Swedish fireplace screen by Olle Hermansson for Husqvarna. Note. This screen is wall-mounted, unlike the freestanding ones. A cast iron fireplace with a theme from the nordic mythology. We can see Thor (Tor) and his running goats and the hammer Mjölnir. Thor was the god of the storm, and thunder. The hammer was Thors primary weapon. It was no ordinary hammer; whenever Thor cast it at an enemy, it returned to his hands like a boomerang. Artist Olle Hermansson, driven by a fascination for Nordic mythology, created this masterpiece where the sun shines from the right, forming an abstract figure of Thor holding a spear in the midst of the flames. Alternatively, it could depict the mythical Yggdrasil tree with a dragon to the left. Regardless of interpretation, this fire screen is a stunning Brutalist sculpture that invites individual imagination and interpretation. Stamped with Husqvarna brand, this artwork is as impressive as a fire screen as it is a sculpture. Elevate your style and add a unique touch to your home – this fire screen is not just a practical necessity but also an artistic statement that will be a conversation piece in any room. Should be great either as a fire screen or a sculpture. Explore another (shown in the last picture) captivating creation by Hermansson. The final image displays the fire screen elegantly positioned within the interior featured in Vogue Living magazine.
