Ray Fink Signed Brutalist Wood and Metal Sculpture

About the Item

An abstract Brutalist wood and metal sculpture by the American artist Ray Fink (1922-1998). The figural sculpture is comprised of two metal figures embraced below a tree. They rest upon a freeform wooden figure suspended by metal columns. The piece rests upon a round clothes pin-shaped wood base and is signed “R. Fink” to the underside. Ray Fink earned his degree from the Art Institute of Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Design. He served in the Navy and Army Air Corps during WWII and taught design at Arizona State University in the late 1950s. Fink is known for mod sculpting and imagery painting.
