About the Item
Cast by the renowned Modern Art Foundry in New York.This sculpture is signed on the bronze base under the tail with the initials HW and the foundry marks are below the signature.
Mr. Weiss's sculpture is part of many public and private collections. These include the Hirshhorn Collection of Washington D.C. as well as the Albright Knox Gallery and the Nelson Rockefeller Collection. He was a member of the National Academy of Design and he was a past president of the National Sculpture Society. His work was also included in shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the National Gallery in Washington.
