About the Item

18th century Italian hand-carved candlestick with hand-painted cream tones and distressed silver leaf detailing, darkened with age, with a coordinating fossil sea fan surrounded by un-sulfured citrine crystals and a base of natural formed, raw citrine crystals in matrix. The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she transformed the piece and the period shows that the candlestick is originally 18th century. All together the Italian candlestick artifact, the fossil sea fan, and natural forming citrine crystals in matrix bring into existence a contemporary, organic piece evolving in its own right.
