18th Century Italian Silver Candlestick with Herkimer Diamond on Mica & Calcite

18th century Italian silver candlestick decorated with a Herkimer diamond with a mica foliage ruffle on a mica in calcite base with crystals. The 18th century Italian silver candlestick is from Tuscany. It is mounted on the mica and calcite base and adorned with crystals. The Herkimer diamond sits atop and is embellished with mica foliage. Herkimer diamonds are from Herkimer, New York. These double-terminated quartz crystals are rare and are known for their diamond-like geometrical shape. The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows that the candlestick is originally 18th century. The Italian church candlestick artifact, Herkimer diamond, crystals, and mica in calcite base, are put together in a sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
