Antique 19th Century Italian Nature Mortes Marble Plaques, Arnoldo Soldini

About the Item

Antique 19th Century pair of Italian nature morte marble plaques, crafted by Arnoldo Soldini (1861-1936), using the famous white marble sourced from Carrara. One plaque showcases birds and a hare, while the other features a fish and grouse. Each plaque is fitted within a finely carved wooden frame. Both pieces bear Soldini's signature in the lower right corner. Soldini embarked on his artistic journey as a freelance sculptor in 1880, establishing his own studio in Milan. Renowned for his exquisite craftsmanship, he sculpted plaster and marble busts, notably adorning animal funeral monuments in prominent cities such as Paris, Milan, Bern, and Locarno. His talent earned him recognition, leading to participation in prestigious Fine Arts showcases in Turin starting from 1884, and later presenting another notable project in Milan in 1886. His works graced the exhibitions of renowned art hubs including Milan, Venice, London, and Chicago. CONDITION In Great Condition - Wear expected with age. Please refer to photographs.
