Meiji Period Signed Bronze and Mixed Metal Bonsai Planter or Brush Pot

About the Item

Meiji period (1868-1912) signed bronze and mixed metal bonsai planter or brush pot, polygon shaped (six sided) decorated with different scenes on each panel, decorated with female figures, birds, bamboo trees, flowers, etc. The top has a rolled top edge, the base is on a three foot base. The bottom is signed in Japanese characters. The planter or brush pot measures 5 1/4"-inches high x 4 1/8"-inches wide x 4 1/8"-inches deep.
