This elegant, antique silvered bronze, oval jardiniere is from France, and dates to the late 1800s. At either end of the oval, there are two acanthus leaf c-scrolls with stylized wheels at the centre. There are two maidens with bows, arrows and quivers who are resting upon each scroll. On the opposing sides, are cartouches with convex egg motifs at their centres, shells at the top and acanthus leaves flanking the egg motifs. At the base of the cartouche are double c-scrolls.
