French Bronze Enamel Porcelain Hand Painted Urn Marble Cassoulet

Limited edition, numbered on the bottom. Authentic item. History of the Urn / Origin The first cremations already occurred in 3000 B.C., which means that incinerations are among the oldest traditional forms of burial. In many ancient cultures, the burning of corpses was associated with the religion's concepts of the afterlife. As a result, for example, cremation is the most frequent form of burial in Hinduism and Buddhism. The cremation is intended to clear the path for the soul into the realm of the death and prevent the return of the deceased. In ancient Rome, cremations were performed but just reserved for the rich at first. Famous Romans such as Sulla, Pompey, Caesar and Augustus asked to be cremated.
