French Mid 19th Century Louis XV St. Ormolu And Glazed Porcelain Centerpiece
About the Item
A most elegant French mid 19th century Louis XV st. Ormolu and glazed Porcelain lidded centerpiece/urn. The Turquoise colored lidded bowl is made of Chinese glazed porcelain and is raised by a pierced Rocaille designed Ormolu base amidst acanthus leaves. At the center is a pierced Ormolu band accenting the wide bell shape of the urn and allowing for the pot pourri inside to emit a lovely subtle scent. The bowl also has two scrolled handles with additional designs of acanthus leaves below the lovely Turquoise lid ornamented with an Ormolu conical finial and Rocaille knob.
