NIPPON - Art Nouveau hand painted and gilded ceramic planter / vase on pedestal base - featuring an over-all robust design of flowers and gilded tentacles on a moss green and cobalt blue background - raised paste gilding to highlight the fluid design of the tentacles - top and bottom secured with the original bolt and nuts (now rusted) - unsigned - Japan - circa 1920.
Excellent antique condition - minor glaze flake (as photographed) - rubbed gilding in areas with some loss - no cracks - no chips - no restoration - stains to the interior (as photographed) - minor scuffs with signs of age and use.
Vase Size / Dimensions - Large - 8 5/8" Wide x 5 7/8" Deep x 8 1/2" High.
