19th Century French Orchies Majolica Glazed Floral Form Vase

About the Item

A late 19th century French majolica glazed earthenware vase modeled as an open flower on a leafy stem, attributed to Orchies, Northern France, circa 1890-1900. A deep rusty-red flower with a turquoise interior sits on a footing molded as green leaves on a cut brown stem. The base has three leaves openly molded with two closed buds glazed in a deep green with red tips. Measures: 8.75 in. H x 5.5 in. W Marked with an incised mold number. Excellent antique condition.
