Rare Asymmetrical Carved Ceramic Vase, Organic Modern Nicaragua Art Pottery
Located in Clifton Springs, NY
Unusual asymmetrical ceramic vase with partially rounded and partially dimpled body is decorated with carved abstract repeating geometric designs that help accentuate the complex, free-formed shape of the piece. Reserved, earthy dark caramel and chocolate brown palette lets hand carved, highly detailed, richly textured pattern to take center stage. The patterns follow the shape of the vase, hugging its curvature and guiding the eye along its lines; the base and the top of the vase are accentuated with solid chocolate brown glaze with incised concentric details. The vase is unsigned; in a separate listing we are offering a vase done in similar style and technique by Roger Calero, a renowned Nicaraguan ceramic artist. This vase could be attributed to the same artist, or it could be created by another Nicaraguan art...
