English Salopian Rhodian Iznik Pattern Art Pottery Vase No. 6

About

A fine Art Nouveau Salopian Rhodian Iznik pattern art pottery vase made at the Benthall Pottery Company around 1895. The red earthenware vase has a Middle Eastern shape standing on a narrow rounded foot with a rounded bulbous lower body tapering into a tall slender neck with a small onion ball top. The vase is decorated with colorful hand painted Iznik incised designs set against a pink colored ground. The vase is incised Salopian Rhodian to the base along with No 6. The vase has a small glaze chip to the top rim with small area of glaze loss in the decoration and is otherwise in good condition. Provenance: Property of a Belgium based gentleman collector of British art pottery.
