A modernist painted ceramic face vase, signed by artist, 20th century
About the Item
A large hand-painted modernist ceramic “winking” face vase, signed by artist, mid to late 20th century. In tones of licorice, marigold, teal, and grenadine - a primary prima donna. Featuring an almost dilophosaurus esque “winged” head, with hand-crafted spikes of hair emerging as hair, this sculptural vase is an incredibly unique relic of modernist decorative art. Stripes on her neck and hat, as well as polka dots scattered across her hair, give this vase a flirtatious whimsy. Signature on verso is illegible but hats off if you can decipher it. A fun piece which will elevate and add playfulness to any interior. Pick up in central west Los Angeles or we ship worldwide.
