About

Pair of large Grand Tour ewers in bronze, circa 1870. These Italian ewers each with a curving wide-lipped mouth, and an ornately scrolling handle decorated with grapes and stylized foliage. With ribbing and oval cartouches to the neck, the body flaring outwards and adorned with relief scenes of classical antiquity. The base of the body cinched and double waisted, on a wreathed circular socle.
