About the Item

A striking and rare ceramic vase by renowned Dutch sculptor and ceramist W.C. Brouwer, crafted in his own workshop in the Netherlands. This piece exemplifies Brouwer’s signature fusion of sculptural form and refined glaze work, reflecting the Art Nouveau and early Modernist influences that shaped his practice. Impressively marked to the base with the artist’s maker’s stamp and numbered 494, this vase not only showcases Brouwer’s exceptional technical skill but also holds strong provenance, making it a desirable collector’s item for enthusiasts of early 20th-century European ceramics. The form is elegant and well-proportioned, with a subtle, tactile surface that speaks to Brouwer’s deep understanding of clay as a sculptural medium. Pieces from Brouwer’s own atelier are increasingly rare on the market, particularly those bearing clear marks and production numbers. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minor signs of age consistent with careful use and display. Provenance: Private collection, Netherlands. An exceptional opportunity to acquire an authentic work by one of the Netherlands' most respected ceramic artists.
