Scandinavian Modern Chamotte Vase
Handmade in Denmark, circa mid-20th century
A visually arresting Scandinavian Modern vase, hand-formed in heavily textured chamotte clay. The rough, dark brown surface is contrasted by a wide band of earthy cream glaze, subtly accented with cobalt blue decor around the body and mouth. The interior is fully glazed in the same warm cream tone, adding depth and refinement to the raw exterior.
Substantial in weight and form, this piece has a commanding presence while retaining the quiet restraint typical of mid-century Nordic ceramics. In pristine vintage condition.
