This is a jar that was burned from the end of the Muromachi period to the Momoyama period (1500-1603), which is older than the Edo period. The characteristic of Shigaraki ware is that there are many feldspars (glassy pebbles). Small grains can be seen on the surface of the jar, which are feldspars. Feldspar is also a pebble that seems to have broken the epidermis of a jar. The characteristics of this jar are well represented. And the nice thing about this jar is that it looks beautiful. The expression of the jar changes greatly depending on the temperature and amount of heat of the kiln. It is powerful because various color gradations appear. 360 degrees, no matter what angle you look at, you don't have the same look. I think it is an excellent work in the Shigaraki ware pot. The firepower is strong and a lot of ashes are falling on this jar. The white part is the part where the straw ash has fallen. And the best part is the part with cracks. This is where the kiln has cracked. I think this is a landscape that Japanese people can do by chance. Such a jar with torn paper is called "yabure-tubo" in Japanese. "Yabure" = torn, "tubo" = jar Vases in this state are very rare. It is difficult to get it even in Japan. However, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so the price is set reasonably.
