Antique 1900s Sterling Silver Champagne Bottle Holder

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive, unusual antique Edwardian English sterling silver champagne bottle holder in the form of a bomb case/shell; an addition to our diverse wine related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver champagne bottle holder has a plain circular cylindrical form in the form of a bomb case/shell. The body and cover of this impressive holder are encircled with plain bands of applied decoration replicating the details of a projectile's fringing groove, rotating band and bourrelet. The fully hallmarked tapering 'ogive' push fit cover is surmounted with a detachable screw fit hallmarked sterling silver 'fuze' finial. The finial is ornamented with a simplified hexagonal bolt style ornamentation to the terminal. Condition This antique bottle holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and exceptional presentation condition. The applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck surface of the cover and body, and part hallmarks to the finial are all very clear.
