Anzolo Fuga Murano Grotesque Enamel Four Face Italian Art Glass Cups Set
By Jean Cocteau, Ansolo Fuga
Located in Kissimmee, FL
Free shipping worldwide! See details below description. Very rare set of six Murano handblown dark green Italian art glass drinking glasses with enamel and gold gilt "Grotesque" changing male faces. Documented to designer Anzolo Fuga circa 1947-1948. The set is described in the Anzolo Fuga book, quoting "At the Bevilacqua La Masa exhibitions in 1947 and 1948, Anzolo Fuga presented objects painted with enamels, described in the catalog as "glass pieces decorated with enamels" (in 1947) and as "a green Grottesco set". In the manner of Jean Cocteau. Unsure of how many sets could have been made, or survived, making the pieces extremely rare. Only one of the glasses is signed in the set. Some faces have mole marks, mustaches, others are smoking cigarettes, and all faces have very exaggerated expressions. Matching set of 6 female face cups...
