1930s Art Deco Ceramic Cake Service Designed by Gio Ponti for S. C. Richard

An art deco cake service designed by Gio Ponti in the Thirties and manufactured in Italy by S. C. Richard. The service is composed by 8 pieces, 1 cake plate, 6 small plates diameter cm 20 and on small oval plate. The decor representing a sail boat has been designed by Gio Ponti, all the pieces are marked on the bottom and in perfect conditions. Gio Ponti was an Italian architect and designer known for his contributions to the modernist movement, including Art Deco, this tureen is a splendid example of the art deco and creative hand of Gio Ponti diameter cm 20
