Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Large Blue Bowl, Gustavsberg, Sweden, 1961

About the Item

Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Large Bowl with blue haresfur glaze, Gustavsberg, Sweden 1961 Impressed "Friberg" "G (hand) " Incised "c" The entire vessel is covered with a pale blue glaze, over which a nearly black brown glaze is applied. The glaze flows with a dynamic and powerful expression, as if water were flowing, and the blue lines that appear between the black are magnificent. The pale blue color is especially beautiful when you look into the bowl. It is like an abstract painting on this large vessel. The bowl has a large bowl shape, and the rim is distorted by hand-twisting, so that the rim appears to undulate when viewed from the side. When viewed from above, it has a soft triangular shape. In good condition. The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.

Berndt Friberg, Stoneware Bowl with yellow haresfur glaze, Gustavsberg, Sweden 1979 Impressed "Friberg" "G (hand) " Incised "1979" The entire body is covered with a brightly colored yellow glaze, which is then covered with a green glaze that mixes with each other and flows nicely. The glaze flows nicely both inside and out, and the glaze has a fine hairline. The rim has a nice gradation. The shape is that of a bowl with a regular circle rim, falling vertically from the rim and bending at the waist in the shape of a twilled bowl, a standard shape for Friberg's work. The style form is influenced by old Chinese ceramics...
