Decorative Hand Painted Italian Ceramic Plates by DeSimone, Palermo 1960s

About the Item

Two hand-painted ceramic flat plates made in Italy in 1964 by the Palermitan manufacture "De Simone". This decoration takes the name of "Alicudi" one of the islands of the Aeolian archipelago. These plates, like all the creations of this Sicilian manufacture, are the result of the work of our artists who have decorated everything by hand. The ceramics of the De Simone Manufactory are the manifesto of the Mediterranean World. There are the bright colors of the sea and the countryside in summer, the animals and the plants of this land, and where the people, the joy and the know-how of the Mediterranean populations are also depicted. Gorgeous as a wall decoration, these plates are in good vintage condition, only one has 2 small defects visible in the photos. The patina of time has given particular charm to the bright colors of these ceramics
