Doulton Burslem Kingsware Admiral Beatty Decorated Dewar’s Whisky Flask

About the Item

A fine and wonderful historical Doulton Burslem Kingsware Dewar’s Whisky Flask with scenes from world war I dating from 1918. This stylish red stoneware flask is of slightly distorted moon shape standing on an oval shaped ring foot with a narrow raised pouring spout to one side and with a looped pouring handle applied along the upper body of the flask. The body of the flask is decorated with an embossed portrait of Admiral Beatty to one side and set against a backdrop of the ocean with two large battle cruisers sailing past. The flask has a Dewar’s signature mark to the opposite side. The flask is decorated in colored tones against a brown glazed ground and bears printed Doulton marks to the base along with a registration mark dating the flask to 1918. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art market. In good original condition with light wear associated with age and use with customary fine crazing.
