About

Goldscheider vienna stunning tall lady figurine: lady dancer. This model is called in German "Tanzstudie" (= study of dancing) Designed by Stefan (= Stephen) Dakon (1904–1997). Stefan Dakon was a well-known Austrian sculptor and ceramics artist. He worked in close association with Josef Lorenzl: Both artists produced many exciting bronze figurine sculptures of the Art Deco period. Their models were used among others by members of the association of bronze producers "Wiener Bronzen" ("Vienna Bronze"), as well as by the famous ceramics manufacturer Goldscheider from Vienna. Dalkon and Lorenzl designed models for the Austrian ceramics manufacturer Keramos, too. After the Aryanization in 1938, the progressive ceramic maker Walter Bosse, who learnt his trade at Goldscheider, attempted to save the firm and run it under his name. The Nazi regime however appointed its protégé Josef Schuster from Munich. His production depended mainly on the already well-established models that had only the manufacturer's name changed.'
