'Tricorn' Young Lady in Carnival Costume by Stephan Dakon, Goldscheider
$5,272.65

About
Very rare Art Deco goldscheider ceramics figurine, circa 1930
The young lady is wearing a carnival costume and a tricorn hat. The triangular straps of her bodice are connected at the top by large buttons, with the legs wide apart and the pulling of the trousers below the waistband, the trouser legs of the suit also look like triangles. The figure is painted in black and gray tones, only the eyes and the hair protruding from under the hat are brown. It is based on a triangular, stepped, black base.
A photograph of the actress Lizzy Arna (aka Elisabeth Arndt, 1904 - 1964) probably served as a template. From 1925 the actress was frequently used in German silent films. She primarily embodied the type of femme fatale or seductive demi-world lady popular in this film era.
Designed by Stephan Dakon (1904 - 1997), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-1950s.
Dakon designed this model circa 1927.
